Residential Services Program

The Residential Services Program consists of a Supportive Living and a Community Support Residential Facility. Services provided are for persons in need of stabilization and those in need of a semi-structured living arrangement to enhance their independent living skills.

Supported Living Facility (SLF) & Community Support Residential (CSR) Facility

Residential Services at this agency have been in existence for nearly three decades, to provide temporary and/or transitional housing for male and female adults aged 18 years and older who are experiencing psychiatric, emotional, situational, and/or environmental crises by providing a viable alternative to psychiatric hospitalization. Consumers residing in either the CSR or SLF facilities benefit from a structured, safe, drug-free living environment to enhance their community stabilization and gain/reinforce independent living skills. Although the consumers served primarily reside in the East/West Garfield Park area, the Residential Services Program has received many referrals from state facilities and hospitals, including some out-of-state referrals. Admission is via intake; Bobby E. Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, Inc. therapists and case managers, direct referrals from state and/or community hospitals, service providers, and directly from the community via self-referrals.
Consumers are charged a nominal rent that is consistent with their income and ability to pay. The hours of operation for both the SLF and CRS facilities are from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, with 24 hour coverage on Saturday and Sunday. During the time period of 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., all residents of both facilities participate in programs at Bobby E. Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, Inc. However, consumers that are employed or enrolled in school have the option of individual contact with Residential Program staff and Bobby E. Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, Inc, in lieu of the regularly scheduled programming. The SLF/CSR facilities are located in the Garfield Park area, within walking distance of Bobby E. Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, Inc. Both facilities provide dinner and breakfast, (lunch is served at Bobby E. Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, Inc.) and consumers are provided with household needs and on-site supervision by multiple staff members. In addition to the medical and psychiatric services provided at Bobby E. Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, Inc., Residential Services Program staff also provides medication monitoring on-site to ensure both medication compliance and optimal medication efficacy for the SLF/CSR consumers. Most services are offered on-site but Residential Services Program staff also work in the community.
In order to be eligibility for services, consumers must:

  • Be mentally ill or dually diagnosed
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have experienced a minimum of one previous psychiatric hospitalization
  • Be ambulatory & medically stable
  • Have some source of income or be eligible to receive an income source
  • Be able to function within a co-ed community housing situation
